Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whetstone). They were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over the Northland Vikings on Friday. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Caniya Woods was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Genevieve Golding was another key player, going 8 for 16 en route to 18 points.

Whetstone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Whetstone pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Northland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whetstone will host Linden-McKinley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northland, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Centennial at 6:00 p.m.
