Preview: Caravel Buccaneers vs. Aberdeen Eagles
The Caravel Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aberdeen Eagles on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two weeks ago, Caravel faced Appoquinimink in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Caravel took a 77-59 bruising from Appoquinimink.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of C. Milton Wright. While losing is never fun, Aberdeen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while C. Milton Wright is ranked 31st).
Despite the loss, Aberdeen got a solid performance out of DARION PARRIS, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points PARRIS has scored all season. JOMAR CAMACHO was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Caravel's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Aberdeen, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
