Softball Recap: Fayetteville Comes Up Short

Fayetteville and Woodland squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fayetteville had to settle for second. They lost 11-0 to the Bobcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Fayetteville's loss dropped their record down to 16-16-1. As for Woodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 25 of their last 29 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-8 record this season.

Fayetteville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodland, they will face off against Kinston at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight.
