Softball Game Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Willow Glen Rams

The Westmont Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Willow Glen Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Westmont fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Santa Teresa on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 9-8.

Maddie Tanaka was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Sophia Burich was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Willow Glen was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Live Oak by a score of 1-0. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Willow Glen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Catalina Medina, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Willow Glen's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Westmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Westmont couldn't quite finish off Willow Glen in their previous matchup back in March and fell 4-2. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
