Football Recap: KIPP Bold City Takes a Loss

KIPP Bold City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the First Coast Buccaneers 55-6. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 225th).

Despite the loss, KIPP Bold City still got an impressive performance from Ronald Stanley, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown. Stanley got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 65 yards.

KIPP Bold City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for First Coast, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Bold City will head out to take on Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for First Coast, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Baker County at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
