Baseball Recap: South Lake Takes a Loss

If South Lake was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Colonial last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Mount Dora Hurricanes by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost four in a row.

South Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was L Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Lake now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Mount Dora, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-6-1 record this season.

South Lake will head out to face off against Dr. Phillips at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mount Dora, they will square off against Leesburg at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
