Volleyball Recap: Villa Joseph Marie Comes Up Short

Villa Joseph Marie entered their contest against Gwynedd Mercy Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jems fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Monarchs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Villa Joseph Marie actually scored more points across those five sets (118-112), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-23, 33-31, 24-26, 15-13.

Villa Joseph Marie's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Villa Joseph Marie will head out on the road to square off against Merion Mercy Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Central Bucks South on the 3rd.
