Basketball Recap: Sachse Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Garland last Friday, Sachse came back down to earth. The Sachse Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 69-68 to the Horn Jaguars. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Sachse lost, don't look at Brayden Banks. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 12 on his way to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Banks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Hudgins, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Sachse's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Horn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Sachse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-50 victory against Independence on the 27th. As for Horn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-51 loss against Lawton on the 27th.
