Basketball Recap: North Star Academy Victorious

North Star Academy won the last time they faced Belleville and things went their way on Saturday too. The stars were shining brightly for North Star Academy in a 55-41 win over the Belleville Buccaneers.

Johnny Mayers Ii had an outrageously good game as he went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tajee Carter, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points along with six assists and three steals.

North Star Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Belleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star Academy and North Plainfield will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Belleville, they will venture away from home to take on Bergen Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
