Baseball Recap: Ladysmith Comes Up Short

Ladysmith lost against Chequamegon back in June of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lumberjacks came up short against the Screaming Eagles, falling 9-3. The Lumberjacks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Danny Vacho was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Ladysmith's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chequamegon, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ladysmith will host St. Croix Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chequamegon, they will welcome Cameron at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Screaming Eagles are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
