Allen proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Wylie East Raiders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 20, 2024.

Allen was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-92), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-23, 12-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Allen's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Wylie East, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Allen is set to face off against their familiar foe Lovejoy on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wylie East will challenge rival Lebanon Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
