Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Beats Killingly for Their Sixth Straight Win

St. Joseph had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Killingly Redmen a 3-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cadets also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2017.

Not much got past HT Jones, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Killingly off the board. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Joseph saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Rios, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 20-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Killingly, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6.

As of now, neither St. Joseph nor the Redmen have any future games scheduled.
