Basketball Recap: Wallace-Rose Hill Starts Season with Victory Against Pender

Wallace-Rose Hill took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past the Pender Patriots 77-36. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 53-45 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Wallace-Rose Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DARRIUS MCCRIMMON led the charge by putting up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of MATTHEW WELLS, who posted 12 points.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malcolm Driver, who put up 11 points. Jordan Hansley was another key player, posting eight points.

Wallace-Rose Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-55 win against Goldsboro on the 20th. As for Pender, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-49 defeat against Lakewood on the 19th.
