Recap: Joshua Christian Knights vs. Community Christian Warriors
It was a good run, but the Joshua Christian Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 62-49 to Community Christian. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Joshua Christian of the 58-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the defeat, Joshua Christian saw an underclassman step up: Addyson Archer scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Macey Kiser was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Buchanan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Buchanan has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Gil, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five steals.
Joshua Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Community Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
Joshua Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community Christian, they will be playing at home against Garland Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Community Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
