Softball Recap: Highland Regional Comes Up Short

Highland Regional extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Haddonfield Bulldawgs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tartans have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Abby Clendining was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Alexa DeMatto, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Haddonfield, the win got them back to even at 4-4. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

On Haddonfield's side, the team relied heavily on Camryn Allgretto, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lena Panzarella, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Regional will square off against Timber Creek Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Haddonfield, they will host Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
