While Blue Valley's victory against Valley Heights wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mustangs 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since May 9, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Innes, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyce Hartman, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Blue Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Blue Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Valley Heights, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Valley will square off against Onaga at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley Heights, they will venture away from home to take on Republic County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
