Soccer Game Preview: South Sevier vs. Grand County

South Sevier hasn't had much luck against Grand County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Rams will take on the Red Devils at 1:00 p.m. South Sevier is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.

South Sevier is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rams who were credited with the win. South Sevier got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to American Leadership Academy's one. Even though South Sevier got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Dante Madsen was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

If South Sevier heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Grand County took over last week. The Red Devils walked away with a 3-1 victory over Beaver on Wednesday. Grand County haven't had any issues with Beaver recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

South Sevier's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for Grand County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

South Sevier came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand County in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
