Baseball Recap: Unity Reed Comes Up Short

Unity Reed extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 27-0 to the Osbourn Park Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 13-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Osbourn Park, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 11 runs per game.

For Osbourn Park's part, Declan Shoen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shoen was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Osbourn Park let Cam Kim and Alex Haines run wild. Kim went 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI, while Haines went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Haines a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Shifflett, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.

While Unity Reed had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
