Mission Bay put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Hilltop Lancers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buccaneers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Mission Bay got a great performance from Blake Barnes as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Barnes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Oswald, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylon Erikson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mission Bay's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Hilltop, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Mission Bay will welcome Mater Dei Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mission Bay is facing Mater Dei Catholic at the right time seeing as Mater Dei Catholic is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hilltop, they will venture away from home to take on La Jolla at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
