Basketball Recap: Pershing County Piles Up the Points Against Oasis Academy

Pershing County waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Oasis Academy Bighorns 66-32. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Oasis Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Fenn Mackedon and Trevor Barrenchea. Mackedon posted 13 points along with seven boards and four blocks, while Barrenchea scored five points and three steals. That's the most blocks Mackedon has posted since back in January of 2024.

Pershing County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Oasis Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Pershing County will challenge Sierra Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oasis Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Incline at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Incline will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Oasis Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
