Basketball Recap: Elkins Find Success

Elkins's game on Tuesday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past the East Fairmont Bees with a 43-38 win. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 61-42 victory the Bees walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, East Fairmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore River Mcclain went 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points and six boards. Mcclain is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Cole VanGilder was another key player, putting up seven points.

The win got Elkins back to even at 4-4. As for East Fairmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Elkins will face off against Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Fairmont, they will square off against Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bridgeport will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something East Fairmont surely won't give up without a fight.
