Basketball Recap: Southwood Falls Despite Big Games from Maddox Marshall and Bryce Wilcox

Southwood played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-31 to the Mississinewa Indians. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Bryce Wilcox and Maddox Marshall certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Wilcox posted ten points along with three steals and three blocks, while Marshall put up nine points and four steals.

Mississinewa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyvon Jacobs, who earned 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayveon Fetz, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Southwood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mississinewa, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Southwood will host Huntington North at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mississinewa, they will venture away from home to challenge Blackford at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th.
