Basketball Recap: Hockaday Comes Up Short

Hockaday was the 57-43 winner over Fort Worth THESA when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hockaday Daisies came up short against the Fort Worth THESA Riders on Thursday, falling 54-33. While losing is never fun, the Daisies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while the Riders are ranked 284th).

Hockaday has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Fort Worth THESA, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hockaday will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Fort Worth THESA, they will be home for the holidays to greet Heritage Christian Athletics at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
