Baseball Game Preview: Germantown Red Devils vs. Arlington Tigers

Germantown hasn't had much luck against Arlington recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Red Devils will face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Germantown has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Monday, Germantown didn't have quite enough to beat Fayette Ware and fell 13-12. Even if the Red Devils couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jacob Jones led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Germantown is 3-1 when Jones posts two or more runs, but 9-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Hubbard, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Arlington waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saints, sneaking past 8-6.

Germantown's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

Germantown might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Arlington in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
