Softball Recap: Vero Beach Takes a Loss

Vero Beach was the 17-2 winner over Martin County when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell 12-8 to the Tigers on Thursday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carlee Reeves was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one double. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bishop, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Vero Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Martin County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vero Beach will face off against Treasure Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Martin County, they will challenge Bayside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
