Football Recap: Brodie Dow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Camden Fairview over Robinson

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Camden Fairview can now relate to. They took a 38-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Robinson Senators on Friday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Senators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brodie Dow, who threw for 249 yards and three TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes. Dow's passing game has become a key predictor of Camden Fairview's success: the team is 4-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Jymauri Utsey got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

While Camden Fairview came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Robinson: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Dakylan Hunter and Utsey, who each logged two passes deflected. Camden Fairview has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.

Camden Fairview now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Robinson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
