Football Recap: Kings Christian Takes a Loss

Kings Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Legacy Christian Academy Lions. Even if the Crusaders couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Despite the loss, Kings Christian still got an impressive performance from Kevin Roche, who rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one score. Roche is becoming a predictor of the Crusaders' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Wyatt Tarkington, who gained 126 total yards and two touchdowns.

Kings Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6.

As of now, neither Kings Christian nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
