Softball Recap: East Hampton Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times East Hampton and Coginchaug Regional have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Bellringers lost 16-5 to the Blue Devils. The Bellringers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Amelia Chrin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

East Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Coginchaug Regional, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, East Hampton will venture away from home to square off against Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coginchaug Regional, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Edwin O. Smith on the 17th.
