Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Hillcrest's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Hillcrest won the last time they faced Monroe County, and JaMarkus Booker did his part to make sure it happened again. The Hillcrest Jaguars managed a 49-45 victory over the Monroe County Tigers on Friday thanks in part to Booker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Dorian Watson was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Hillcrest is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Monroe County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11.
