Softball Recap: Wewahitchka Takes a Loss

Wewahitchka lost against Liberty County back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wewahitchka Gators came up short against the Liberty County Bulldogs, falling 20-3. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayla Clayton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Brant, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Wewahitchka's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Liberty County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Wewahitchka has already played their next match, a 16-1 defeat against Wakulla on the 3rd. As for Liberty County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against Marianna on the 4th.
