Football Recap: Mannford Skates Past Mcloud with Ease + How To Watch

Mannford hadn't done well against McLoud recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Pirates claimed a resounding 41-13 win over the Redskins. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.

Mannford found their leader in sophomore Luke Naylor, who rushed for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Those 201 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Naylor.

Leroy Thomas and Phoenix Lopez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Thomas rushed for 91 yards and one score, while Lopez rushed for 104 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

The victory keeps Mannford at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average this season. As for McLoud, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Mannford and McLoud could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Pirates will take on Perkins-Tryon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (135 vs. 50). Meanwhile, McLoud (ranked 178th) will meet Sulphur (ranked 20th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
