West Aurora has gone 9-1 against South Elgin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The West Aurora Blackhawks will welcome the South Elgin Storm at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Aurora has 13 straight wins, South Elgin has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, West Aurora didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Brother Rice, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Blackhawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Crusaders are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, South Elgin had to suffer through a 63-30 loss at the hands of Naperville North.

West Aurora's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points over those games. As for South Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

West Aurora strolled past South Elgin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 58-43. Will West Aurora repeat their success, or does South Elgin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
