Baseball Recap: Silver Creek Beats Yerba Buena for Their Third Straight Victory

Silver Creek entered their tilt with Yerba Buena on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Aztec Warriors. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-0 win back in March.

Cayleb Duran made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nate Spellman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Medina, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.

Silver Creek's record now sits at 14-4. As for Yerba Buena, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Coming up, Silver Creek will face off against Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Yerba Buena, they will square off against Gunderson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Aztec Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
