Softball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-4 to the North Daviess Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejackets of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for North Daviess, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mitchell and North Daviess will both be playing Wood Memorial the next time they take the field. The Bluejackets will host the Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
