Baseball Recap: Covington Finds Home Field Redemption Against Non Varsity Opponent

There's no place like home for Covington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over Non Varsity Opponent on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Owls needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Joseph Vierra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gaven Burt, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

Covington now has a winning record of 3-2-2.
