Basketball Recap: Middletown Knights vs. Walkersville Lions
Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Walkersville Lions. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 47-41.
Walkersville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liyana Goukoye led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addison Boram, who posted 13 points and seven boards.
Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Walkersville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
