Softball Recap: North Mac Sets Scoring Season-High Against Riverton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Mac). Everything went their way against the Riverton Hawks on Thursday as they made off with a 12-4 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Taylor Keirs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, North Mac let Addison Cole and Lennox Wiseman run wild. Cole went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Wiseman got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Cole has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Reese Perrine, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

North Mac picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-17-1. As for Riverton, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Looking ahead, North Mac will square off against Pana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverton, they will host Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
