Eisenhower is 0-10 against Spring since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. Eisenhower will challenge Spring at 6:00 p.m. Eisenhower is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Eisenhower came up short against MacArthur and fell 7-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eisenhower saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kameron Gourley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Spring won against Benjamin Davis on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Spring sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over Benjamin Davis. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won seven in a row.
Jesus Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Spring is undefeated when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Spring got a massive performance out of Anthony Cuarenta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four hits gave Cuarenta a new career-high. Julian Curry was another key player, going 2-for-6 with one home run and three RBI.
Eisenhower's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Spring, their record is now 10-8.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eisenhower has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like Spring struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eisenhower came up short against Spring in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 11-6. Can Eisenhower avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
