Baseball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Scotland Christian Academy

Bethel Christian Academy won the last time they faced Scotland Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Trojans blew past the Saints 19-1. Considering the Trojans have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jamey Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Bethel Christian Academy is undefeated when Williams posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bethel Christian Academy let Jonathan White and Levi Gates run wild. White scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Gates scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Gates has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jason Turnage, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Bethel Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Bethel Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Scotland Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian Academy will host DASH at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scotland Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
