Recap: Neshoba Central Rockets vs. Vicksburg Gators

The Neshoba Central Rockets waltzed into their match Tuesday with 16 straight wins but they left with 17. They claimed a resounding 81-23 victory over Vicksburg at home. Neshoba Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 15 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Neshoba Central had a senior duo take command as Katelin Williams scored 17 points and Zharia Leflore scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. Erica Lyons was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Neshoba Central's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Vicksburg, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neshoba Central will take on Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Callaway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Neshoba Central likes a good challenge. As for Vicksburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
