Recap: Bulloch Academy Gators vs. Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers
The Bulloch Academy Gators won the last time they faced the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers, and things went their way on Friday too. Bulloch Academy claimed a resounding 64-34 win over Mount de Sales Academy on the road. Given Bulloch Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Mount de Sales Academy is ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bulloch Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashantay Noble, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaley Cardell, who scored nine points along with 11 steals.
Despite the defeat, Mount de Sales Academy had strong showings from Anna Cane, who scored 15 points, and Julia Bonbrake, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Laura lillie Sparks, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Bulloch Academy's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.33 points. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Bulloch Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brentwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Academy for Classical Education at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
