Football Recap: Cullman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cullman was the 35-14 winner over Mortimer Jordan when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bearcats and the Blue Devils were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Bearcats suffered a 21-20 loss. While the Bearcats had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Blue Devils 13-7.

Colt Colvard threw for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mortimer Jordan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blaze Neely, who threw for 180 yards and three TDs. Parker Reno handled things on the ground, rushing for 146 yards.

Cullman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mortimer Jordan, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Cullman and Mortimer Jordan will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bearcats are set to square off against their familiar foe Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mortimer Jordan will take on rival Homewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
