McPherson extended the longest winning streak in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III this week by beating Clay Center, 34-17. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Buhler was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Ulysses. The Crusaders came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 31 last week.
Mulvane's dynamic duo of Ty Redington and Alex Evans proved tough for Maize South to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Redington threw for 150 yards and one touchdown and Evans had 81 yards receiving. Nolan Smith helped Mulvane's passing attack out by catching four balls for 39 yards.
Austin Obannon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 153 yards as McPherson defeated the Mavericks. Dalton Clark also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
Mulvane's Redington and Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Redington has thrown for 2395 yards this season, while Evans, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 84 catches for 1450 yards. Tom Young's team's Obannon leads the league in rushing yards with 1115.
The marquee game in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III this week will be the clash between David Fennewald's team and Buhler. The Wildcats enters the contest ranked 15th in the state, while Steve Warner's team ranks 19th.
Keaton Sorenson of the the Bullpups' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 100 receiving yards in this week's game against Holton to get there. He has recorded 42 catches for 900 yards this year.
