Softball Recap: Bedford Bisons vs. North Star Cougars

Bedford stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Star Cougars as the Bedford Bisons made off with an 11-1 win. Winning may never get old, but Bedford sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Emma Byers made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Byers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Byers was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

In other batting news, Bailey Mickle was incredible, going 4-for-4 with a home run, four runs, and two triples. Leah Nee was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Bedford pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for North Star, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bedford will take on Richland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Star, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Berlin Brothersvalley at 4:30 p.m.
