Basketball Game Preview: College Station Cougars vs. Rudder Rangers

College Station and Rudder are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The College Station Cougars will host the Rudder Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

College Station is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Westlake just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between them and the Chaparrals didn't end well, with College Station falling 61-47. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Chaparrals are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Rudder ended the year with a bang, routing Lake Belton 65-42 on Friday. The Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

The win got Rudder back to even at 7-7. As for College Station, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Everything went College Station's way against Rudder in their previous matchup back in February, as College Station made off with a 65-45 victory. Does College Station have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rudder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
