Cave Spring and Salem are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Knights will head out to  take on the Spartans  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Cave Spring's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Cave Spring's defense heads into the  matchup  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  1-0  victory over Pulaski County. Meanwhile, Salem won against Lord Botetourt  on Thursday with six  goals and they decided to stick to that  goal total again  on Friday. The Spartans put the hurt on Pulaski County with a sharp  6-2 win. The result was nothing new for Salem, who have now won five games by four  goals or more  so far this season.
They hit Pulaski County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from  Logan Lavinder (3),  Anthony Rugama (2),  and  Elijah Clark.
 The  victory made it two in a row for Salem and  bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  scored 12  goals over those two  contests. As for Cave Spring, their  victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5-1 and their overall record up to 3-7-1.
 Cave Spring suffered a grim  5-1 defeat to Salem  in their previous matchup  on April 8th. Can the Knights avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
