Basketball Recap: Towers Takes a Loss

Towers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Decatur Bulldogs and fell 95-49.

Decatur's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Welborn, who shot 73% from the field on his way to 18 points. The game was Welborn's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Howson, who posted ten points along with eight assists and four steals.

Towers' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Decatur, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Towers will venture away from home to take on Walker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Decatur, they are taking a road trip to face off against Riverwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
