Volleyball Recap: Design Tech Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Design Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pinewood Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Design Tech had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16.

Eliot Trainor had a dynamite game, getting eight digs and eight aces. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high. Uliana Tymoshenko also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Design Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Design Tech's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Pinewood, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Design Tech will welcome KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pinewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Basis Independent Silicon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
