Baseball Recap: South Putnam Takes a Loss

South Putnam extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-10 in the process. They came up short against the Parke Heritage Wolves, falling 12-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Kason Amies made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. South Putnam is 3-1 when Amies posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Kenny McDaniel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Parke Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-8. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Parke Heritage's side, they got a massive performance out of Lewie Woody, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave Woody a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Renn Harper, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, South Putnam will square off against Greencastle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parke Heritage, they will face off against Fountain Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
