Basketball Recap: Exeter's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

After flying high against Lindsay on Monday, Exeter came back down to earth. The Monarchs fell 55-44 to the Coalinga Horned Toads on Tuesday. The contest marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Exeter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andrew Plyman dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards set a new season-high mark for Plyman. Aden Plyman was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Exeter fell to 7-1. As for Coalinga, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Exeter will head out to take on Summit Charter Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coalinga, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-52 win against Golden West on the 10th.
